As followers of Christ, we are called to take the good news of the gospel, the light of the world, to the ends of the earth. We are blessed to have a liturgical calendar that trains us to inhabit God’s story, allowing the life of Christ to shape both our personal faith and the shared life of the Church over time.

Flourishing together is the life-giving partnership of a diocese and her congregations in which mission, relationship, and clergy wellbeing are held in balance.

The apostle Paul wrote the book of Philippians from prison - not exactly a retreat setting - and yet the whole letter radiates joy, gratitude, peace, and confidence in Christ. His message was sent to people who were anxious for him, struggling with unity, and suffering persecution for their faith.  What was his counsel to them?

The New Wineskins Conference has a special place in my heart. The Holy Spirit uses the conference to refresh and challenge me. 

There were so many such stories—testimonies of courage, faith, and the miraculous power of God—that left me awestruck.

As one Anglican bishop in a war-torn region of Nigeria explained, the light of the Gospel shines brightest when everything around us is the darkest.

How do I love thee, New Wineskins?  Let me count the ways.

Can one, should one, love a Conference?  In short, yes. I love the triennial New Wineskins Conference (NWC) – not really to the “height and breadth my soul can reach” - that is for God alone – but nonetheless, I love it “For the ends of being and ideal grace.” (Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Sonnett 43)  

Lately I’ve been praying into Romans 5:5 and making it my own: “God, thank you that your love has been poured into my heart through the Holy Spirit who has been given to me. Pour more love into me and out of me, dear Holy Spirit, that I might live into your mission, in Jesus Name.”
