Report Misconduct

Reporting Child or Youth Abuse

If you have witnessed or suspect the abuse of a child or young person, immediately report it to local authorities.

STEP 1: Report to Local Authorities

Contact your local police department or child protective services right away.

Reporting Abuse of a Vulnerable Adult

If you have witnessed or suspect the abuse of a vulnerable or elderly adult, many states require you to report it to local authorities. These laws vary considerably from state to state.

Reporting Abuse By Clergy

Misconduct may include behaviors like sexual harassment, discrimination, financial impropriety, abuse of authority, or other conduct prohibited by ACNA and DOMA canons, policies, or state and national law.

Complete the DOMA form. Your report will be sent directly to The Rev. Canon Laura Bowman, Canon for Safe Churches.

Misconduct By Laypersons

Misconduct by a non-ordained staff person or other lay leader must be investigated by the Rector and Senior Warden of the church where it took place.

STEP 1: CONTACT YOUR RECTOR

Reach out to your Rector or Senior Warden to begin the investigation.

STEP 2: notify doma

Let us know so we're aware of the report and can support the process.
