Celebrating Easter around the Diocese
Imagine laughter and songs of praise as you take a three-minute stroll around the Diocese on Easter Sunday!
Ushering Children into the Joy of Easter
On Saturday, March 27, children from Incarnation Church in Williamsburg, VA gathered at a neighborhood clubhouse to paint "resurrection" eggs and decorate an "Alleluia" banner for the children's classroom.
Clergy Renewal of Vows
On Tuesday, March 30, the clergy of the Diocese participated virtually in their annual Renewal of Ordination Vows service hosted by Truro Anglican Church.
Ordination in the Diocese
We thank God for the ordination of José Garrigó to the diaconate on April 10, 2021 at Truro, Fairfax, VA.
Superhero Fun Run!

Christ is Risen! Video of Easter from Around the World
Gafcon communications have published a video: ‘Christ is Risen!’ From Around the World.’ The Easter proclamation is recorded from various nations and in various languages.
An Easter Message from Archbishop Foley Beach
Holy Week reminds us that God loved us so much that he sent his Son into our world to die for our sins. As the Apostle Paul writes in Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.”
2021 Josiah Project Beckons
Launched in 1990, Rock the World’s Josiah Project has inspired more than 80% of its graduates to continue in Christian leadership — for decades.
Easter Services Online
As COVID-19 continues and requires many of us to remain safely at home this Easter, you are joyfully invited to participate in one of the many online services offered by the churches in the Diocese.
Holy Week Services Online
During Holy Week 2021, multiple churches around the Diocese invite you to participate via livestream services for Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday/Easter Vigil.
Experiencing the Way of the Cross throughout the Diocese
Many of the churches of the Diocese have created socially-distanced opportunities to experience Stations of the Cross. Here is a list of those opportunities to help usher in a blessed Easter Sunday.
A Message from the Bishop - "Equipped to speak his truth in kindness and love"
As we look toward Holy Week, we speak repeatedly in our worship of our call to walk in the way of the Cross. We even dare to pray, in the Collect for Palm Sunday, “Mercifully grant that we may walk in the way of his suffering.”
News that Causes Us to Act
Search for hyper-local news that presents us “with an opportunity to love, to pray, to serve, or to celebrate at the human level.” The only way to find this news is by engaging in conversations with our neighbors, friends, and family.
Learning about News Literacy
Laurel Taylor, a high school librarian, used some of the tools she uses with her students and added specific advice for Christians looking to read and share the news in ways that reflect God’s call to love our neighbors and invest in the communities in which He has placed us.
The Lenten Journey 2021
None of us expected to still be experiencing a quarantine during another Lent, yet so many churches have offered meaningful ways to gather and reflect together. Well done!
An International Presence: A Quarantine Blessing
When the pandemic first started in March 2020, Korean Anglican (Lutherville, MD) uploaded a PowerPoint version of the service on YouTube so people could follow along with the virtual service on YouTube. Before this point, our congregation only met in person at Resurrection Anglican in Luthersville with very little online presence. Almost immediately, several fellow Anglicans in other states and in Korea began watching the sermons.
Preparing Little Hearts for a Big, Glorious Easter!
A year of quarantine has only increased the creativity of children, youth, and family ministries. It is amazing to see how churches in the Diocese are encouraging all ages to draw closer to the Lord during Lent, even while apart.
The Blessing of the Burrito Bandits
In February, Tori (my wife)i and I were the self-proclaimed "burrito-bandits", delivering burritos and desserts to students as we race across campus. It's been so fun!
Daylight Savings Begins - Images
On Sunday, March 14, Daylight Savings Time begins. Remind your congregations using the social media images available on the Diocese website. Some are for this coming week and others are specifically for next Saturday.
