On May 9, the ministry will be partnering with For The Nations, Christ Church Vienna, Shepherd’s Heart Anglican Church, and Church of the Apostles for a mobile bike clinic repairing adult bikes for Afghan Refugees to have transportation for work.

During Holy Week and on Easter, churches around the Diocese hosted a variety of events and provided multiple opportunities to contemplate and celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Church of the Good Shepherd will embody and uniquely express the gifts of the Anglican tradition in Charlottesville, VA.

In addition to the Triduum services (Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Eve), churches around the Diocese offer a variety of opportunities to experience the last moments before Jesus’ death to help usher in a blessed Easter Sunday.

While travel has been restricted over the past two years, Pastor to Pastor calls provided a means for SOMA to continue its ministry during the pandemic. This February, Bishop Guernsey participated in a Pastor to Paster call and shared valuable wisdom gained from his years in global ministry and mission.

The diocese has prioritized church planting as a core part of our mission. We have a number of church plants underway with more in the pipeline. I encourage you to get to know these works and consider supporting their work in prayer and perhaps financially.

The Liturgy and Music Task Forces have formally requested, over the past year, submissions of Communion Settings for possible inclusion in the Service Music section of the developing new Anglican Church in North America Hymnal.

Almost everyone went home with prizes donated by the generous people at Truro.

Anglican Relief and Development Fund (ARDF) has been overwhelmed by the generous support of donors across North America who want to help. We have been equally encouraged by the number of you who know people in Ukraine doing amazing work to help the refugees. Thank you.

The service was a poignant reminder of the diaconal calling that undergirds all ordained ministry. Several friends attending the ordination commented on part of the Bishop’s exhortation, “…you are to interpret to the church the needs, concerns and hopes of the world.”
