GENERAL

  • Synod will be held at Truro Anglican Church, 10520 Main Street, Fairfax, VA 22030.

  • Everyone is welcome to attend Synod. The Thursday event is for clergy only. However, the events on Friday and the business meeting on Saturday are open to all.

  • For planning purposes, registration is required for all attendees. (Except for those attending Friday evening service only.)

  • The registration fee is not required to attend the Friday Eucharist and Ordination service only.

  • Location coming soon.

    The dates for 2027 Synod are Nov. 11 - 13 for clergy and Nov. 12-13 for lay delegates and guests.

  • There is no child care provided during Synod.

  • Should you require overnight accommodation Thursday or Friday, a block of rooms has been reserved at two hotels. Read more.

DELEGATES

  • Registration is required for all delegates. Alternate delegates only need to require if they are attending Synod.

  • Lay delegates attend Synod from Friday-Saturday. Check-in for lay delegates begins at 11 a.m. on Friday.

  • In addition to reviewing all of the documentation sent via email, all delegates are requested to attend one Synod Prep virtual meetings.

  • Please bring your Bible, a notebook to take notes, and a mobile device (phone or tablet) for voting.

  • Yes, so that we maximize the time together, and because the business portion of the meeting has been scaled back, it will be prudent to review the materials before you arrive. All materials can be found in the Document Center.

    In response to concern about wasted paper and as a way of exercising creation stewardship, we will not be providing paper packets this year.

  • This year, the voting conducted during the Synod business meeting on Saturday morning will again be done electronically.

    Your phone or tablet must be able to scan a QR code and access a website (via wifi or cell data).

  • Synod is business casual.

  • Your registration fee includes:

    Friday: Lunch, and dinner, and reception
    Saturday: Coffee and light refreshments

CLERGY

  • Registration is required for all clergy.

  • Clergy are required to attend Synod from Thursday-Saturday. Check-in for clergy starts 5 p.m. on Thursday.

  • Thursday night and Saturday business meetings: Business Casual

    Friday Night Eucharist with Ordinations: Vestments (Red stoles)

  • Synod will end at 12:15 pm on Saturday.

    Please note the new ending time, which is much earlier than past Synods. We want clergy to have more time to return home and prepare for Sunday services.

    Thursday: Reception and Dinner
    Friday: Coffee and morning light refreshments, lunch, dinner, and reception
    Saturday: Coffee and light refreshment
