On the first Friday in March, ninety women from Truro Church drove the winding road from Fairfax to Cacapon Resort State Park. In God’s grace and kindness to us, Catherine Warner agreed to be our retreat speaker.

 Church of the Epiphany hosted “The Dementia Retreat” on March 2. Videos of each of the sessions are now available.

During their recent retreat, the women at Redeemer Anglican church explored how different habits of being present with God grow their sense of identity as women who belong to God and who are loved by God.

What a glorious day it was to have our community public opening for Christ the Redeemer in Dillsburg, PA! Our core team did an amazing job loving and welcoming our community and celebrating the resurrected Christ. Thank you DOMA for your prayers, love, and support. 

On Tue. Mar. 5, Restoration Anglican Church in Arlington, VA hosted the annual clergy renewal of vows, consecration of holy oil, and lunch.

Vocational Deacons Day was a day of blessing for eighteen Deacons who attended; a time of sharing, listening, encouraging, and prayer for our Vocational Deacons from across our Diocese.

One of the unique aspects of going to church in the DC area, is that the Christian world here is a small one. Contrary to what one might think about the area, it’s not unusual to find oneself worshiping next to someone from across the aisle politically.

The AcLN Advocacy team supports parishes in their efforts to bring about genuine belonging in the life of the church for all affected by disability.

Easter is coming!

Yes I know, we’ve just begun the Season of Lent. But Easter is only a month away. Easter is the most important event of our church year. It’s the day we celebrate the best news in the world — that forgiveness is real, death is defeated, the restoration of all things has begun, and eternal life is available through faith in Jesus Christ!

As it is Women’s History month (as well as Lent), why not include as part of your seasonal spiritual practices reading at least one book by a Christian woman author?

During March, you are invited to enjoy a variety of opportunities and resources created by women and for women.

In the 1980’s, a prophetic word was given at Church of the Apostles in Fairfax that was considered so significant that it was printed up with other “abiding words” and put in the literature rack there.  I read it in the early 1990’s, and it gripped me.  It was a vision that a series of renewed, on-fire churches would be planted which would become a “Ring of Fire” around our nation’s capital.  I was discerning a call to church planting at the time, and this word helped to propel my calling.

Many people carry wounds they incurred from their mothers, such as unmet needs, absence, neglect, harsh words, or abusive behavior.  Thanks be to God, the Lord can go back heal those wounds with His perfect love!

All Souls Church Plant in Richmond, VA has new art installed for the season of Lent.

Another first for FAF was an Ash Wednesday evening service. Since we do not yet have a priest, Bishop Chris gave permission for Dave Breisch, who serves on our core team, to lead the service and administer the imposition of ashes. This deeply meaningful service was shared among young and old in our congregation.
