In-person attendance at the Saturday business session is for delegates and clergy only. You are invited to watch virtually the annual Synod, both the Eucharist at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19 and the business meeting on Sat., Nov. 20 from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Remembering the Rev. Canon Jack Grubbs
Our beloved Canon for Ordinations, the Rev. Jack Grubbs, died on November 4 after a seven-month battle with cancer. So many clergy have shared how much his wise counsel and gracious pastoral care meant to them through their ordination process.

Donuts & Cider
In addition to offering free donuts, popcorn and apple cider (both hot and cold), Church of the Apostles parishioners provided a variety of games for the kids, with candy prizes, as well as a count-the-candy-corn contest, balloon twisting, fun temporary tattoos, and a fire pit

If church attendance is so good for us physically and spiritually, why is it so hard for us sometimes (even without a pandemic)? Well, both Christian and secular culture have been on a decades long quest for the benefits of church without the commitments that go with it.
$340k to 9 countries = a busy six months!
In the past 6 months (since the last project update on May 1, 2021), ARDF has sent nearly $340,000 to projects in: Egypt, Ghana, India, Kenya, Myanmar, Nigeria, South Sudan, and Tanzania. We also funded a project in an undisclosed country (due to security reasons).
The Gifts of Giving Thanks
Christ has secured this for us in the cross, pronounced even our weakest efforts to give thanks to God as worthy by triumphing over death, and receives our thanksgiving and praise as he sits enthroned at the right hand of God. This is our confidence to approach the Father and give Him our thanks.
Immanuel Anglican Church Breaks Ground!
On October 17, representatives from Immanuel Anglican Church (Woodbridge, VA), the architect and builders, and Bishop John, celebrated the groundbreaking liturgy to begin the process of building their new church building.

Become a SWAT Intercessor
Currently, AFL has 866 members on our Prayer Team. We want to increase that number by 100% and develop a special SWAT (Spiritual Warfare AFL Team) to intercede in special or critical circumstances. Our upcoming Life SUMMIT 2022: Mobilizing the Church for Life, is a great example of a special circumstance in need of focused prayer. Your prayers will ensure our Life SUMMIT preparations are impactful and fruitful for God’s Kingdom.
Student Leadership Network
The Next Generation Leadership Initiative (NGLI) exists to assist dioceses and parishes in the work of developing the next generation of leaders, both lay and ordained. Our mission is to discover, develop, and deploy leaders and ministry resources for the Anglican Church in North America.
Grace Anglican Church
Since purchasing a permanent home in White Post, VA and discerning that they have become a regional body of believers, it no longer seemed fitting to be called "Winchester" Anglican Church. So after much prayer, discussion, and input from the entire congregation they have settled on a new name!
