What do “treasure hunts” and “a wild jungle adventure” and “Pickleball” all have in common? These are just a few of the fun, summer events churches in the Diocese are hosting for their congregations and communities! And we have the fun photos to prove it.

Can you imagine praying at the Western Wall in Jerusalem, visiting the oasis of En Gedi where David hid from Saul, or walking in the hills along the Sea of Galilee where Jesus taught? We will be doing all of these things and much more as part of Epiphany's pilgrimage to the Holy Land February 14-24 next year.

Camp Booyah was founded in 2015 as a place for Anglican middle and high school students to come together for worship, community, and mission. Two hundred eighteen campers from 18 churches spent the week making connections with other Anglican youth, going deeper in their faith, contributing to the local community and experiencing new adventures.

The Rev. Robbie Pruitt’s (Holy Spirit Church in Leesburg, VA) mountain bike was stolen last fall during quarantine (when bikes were especially hard to purchase). Robbie’s response was to forgive and show empathy.

I’ve returned home with renewed gratitude for all that we receive from one another in our Church. Would you join me in thanking God for these strong partnerships in the Gospel which he so graciously gives us?

It has been so encouraging to hear stories from people in the congregation about how God has worked in them through something they heard, or the experience of partaking of Christ in the Eucharist (even those who would not yet consider themselves Anglican!).

On Friday morning, the president of Uganda announced that he would address the nation that evening. Announcing a speech with no notice is never good news.

When I look back and see the church plants I have been involved in over the past almost forty years, I am amazed. Being on the Great Commission Committee for twelve years means that I have gotten to hear the stories behind other church plants as well, but there’s a beginning to every story.

What a year this has been! The Lord has been ever-present. It has been challenging, but Jesus is still Lord, and He is still on the Throne.

At New Creation Church in Hagerstown, MD, we delight to be the church in unexpected places. Just recently on Saturday, June 12, we had the opportunity to go into the Interstate Wine Festival, a regional event that attracts thousands of people each year. We sign up as a non-profit vendor and bring a flyer that simply asks the question, "What's the Best Wine Ever Made?"
