Griddles, Syrup, and Fellowship

The day before Ash Wednesday is known as Shrove Tuesday, or simply Pancake Day. Historically it was a chance to enjoy rich foods before the fasting season of Lent. Today, many of our churches keep the tradition alive with pancake suppers, community gatherings, and plenty of syrup. One of the best parts about events like this, is that all ages can enjoy and serve together.

Below are photos from Restoration (Arlington, VA), Epiphany (Chantilly, VA), Corpus Christi (Springfield, VA), and Incarnation (Williamsburg, VA). A special shout-out to Epiphany for the fun idea to include Jeopardy in the event!
