An Ordination Story: Tee Freyer
by Tee Feyrer
[On November 14], I was ordained a deacon in the Anglican Church. In a part of the service, I was handed a Bible and told by the bishop, "take the authority to read the Gospel in the Church of God and to teach the same." This was a beautiful moment for me, because the Bible I was given was the one I received almost 10 years ago during the summer of 2016. That summer, I remember sitting on a beach in Los Angeles and experiencing a clear call from God to pursue vocational ministry. In fact, I remember distinctly hearing Him say: "what else would you do but this?" From that moment on, I have been seeking to discern what "this" meant, what my call to vocational ministry would look like, and where it would take me. Through it all, my hope has been to know and love Christ, and call people to do the same.
What led me to do so in this particular context? In short, I desired to pursue vocational ministry in a context that would equip me, shepherd me, and send me to do serve His Church. Over the past 6 years, Redeemer Anglican Church has helped me foster my call and allowed me use my gifts.
But even before that, many of you have played a role in my journey in some way, shape or form. You have given me the space to use my gifts, to identify my call, or simply prayed for me. For this I am sincerely thankful.
Would you pray that God would continue to equip, shepherd, and send me, to do the good work He has given me to do?
