DELEGATE FAQ’s FOR SYNOD 2025

General FAQ’s here // FAQ’s specifically for Clergy here

What is the schedule for Lay Delegates?

Lay delegates attend Synod from Friday-Saturday. (See schedule here.)

How should I prepare for Synod?

In addition to reviewing all of the documentation sent via email, all delegates are required to attend one Synod Prep virtual meeting. Details here. You may also find all Synod documents on the DOMA website, here. If you have any questions, please contact Lisa via email.

Do I need to register?

Yes. Registration is required for all delegates. Register here.

What do I need to bring with me?

Please bring your Bible, a notebook to take notes, and a mobile device (phone or tablet) for voting. (Learn more.)

Do I need to review the Synod materials in advance?

Yes, so that we maximize the time together, and because the business portion of the meeting has been scaled back, it will be prudent to review the materials before you arrive. All materials can also be found here. In response to concern about wasted paper and as a way of exercising creation stewardship, we will not be providing paper packets this year.

This year, the voting conducted during the Synod business meeting on Saturday morning will be done electronically. We will practice this briefly during the delegate zoom meetings in October. (Details here.) Your phone or tablet must be able to scan a QR code and access a website (via wifi or cell data). Learn more here.
