Flourishing Relationally
The Rev. Canon Jonathan Millard, Anglican Diocese of Pittsburgh
Jonathan grew up in England and, prior to ordination, practiced as a barrister (trial lawyer) for five years in Manchester. Jonathan completed his seminary training at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford and was ordained in 1992.
Over the years Jonathan has served in a variety of settings on both sides of the Atlantic – from rural parishes in England, to a college town in Pennsylvania, and most recently as the rector of Church of the Ascension in Pittsburgh, a large multi-staff parish located in the heart of the university neighborhood of the city. Jonathan delights in serving as a leader in the Church, being among God’s people, and coming alongside others in times of joy and sadness.
Jonathan is passionate about preaching the Gospel, and by God’s grace, encouraging others in their vocations and ministries. He is surer today than ever of God’s grace, love, and power to do abundantly far more than we can ask or imagine.
Last year, after more than twenty years as rector, and having completed two terms as a member of the ACNA Executive Committee, Jonathan retired from Ascension. He is currently serving as a member of the Court for the Trial of a Bishop.
Jonathan loves to spend time with his wife, Andrea, and his three adult children (and their spouses). He also enjoys hiking, reading, music, travel, and photography
