As he was ascending to Heaven, Jesus said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20).

Notice that Jesus told his followers to “go and make” disciples. He didn’t say: Stay and be disciples, but go and make them. It’s vital that we recognize there’s an outward movement to Christ’s Great Commission; there’s an outward movement to discipleship.

The youth group at Church of the Holy Spirit recently embarked on a meaningful service trip to Niagara Falls, New York. Partnering with YouthWorks, a nondenominational mission organization, our young members dedicated a week to serving a community in need.

In an effort to connect our own church family, and reach out to the community, Church of the Apostles (Fairfax, VA) hosted Brick Building Nights for four consecutive Wednesdays in July.

During a recent Truro Missions Service Project in April, volunteers from Truro, Fairfax, VA, rallied together to transform the home of Ms. Brooks, an elderly widow residing in Woodbridge, VA.

The congregation of Redeemer prayed for the graduating seniors and blessed them as they reached their hands forth at the end of the service.

Anglican Relief & Development Fund is seeking volunteers to participate in a Tornado Response service trip to Rolling Fork, MS 

Months of planning and organizing go into this ministry, and we are the ones who always come out so blessed.

Christ the Redeemer’s recent invite and connect event included a rock, paper, scissors battle and ugly sweater contest.

In December, Christ Church Vienna in Vienna, VA, offered Christmas services in Spanish. The response has been heartening, with new families attending after learning about the services through outreach to local elementary schools' social workers.

On the evening of Saturday, Dec. 9, Christ the Savior Anglican, Glen Burnie, MD, extended the spirit of Christmas to the recovery community in the Arbutus, MD area through a heartwarming Christmas Dinner Outreach.

Talents’ literacy, numeracy and business skills programs have supported more than 1.6 million community members worldwide – an accomplishment that is only possible because of our partnerships.

Does God answer prayer? Yes!! Yes!! We have seen God answer the prayers of the DOMA family at Christ the Redeemer in Dillsburg, PA.

On Saturday, October 7, Shepherd’s Heart Anglican Church participated in the Bikes, Bands, and Barbecue Bash event hosted by Church of the Apostles in Fairfax, VA. In addition to receiving donated bikes to repair, but neighbors popped by with bikes for repairs and tune-ups.

Those who live with autism experience the world in unique ways. Their voices and gifts are needed in the church to help us experience the full beauty and scope of the Imago Dei – the Image of God.

This has been the heart and vision of our church, Christ Church Vienna, as we have taken prayerful, consistent and intentional steps toward knowing and inviting our Spanish-speaking neighbors here in Vienna into our lives and into the life of our church.  Ultimately our prayer is that Jesus would take the different groups that exist in our community that are all too easily divided, isolated and unknown one to another, and reconcile us to himself to create something new as we are all welcomed into one extended family, with Christ as our head.

We wish we could communicate the joy in our classes as we teach, learn, laugh, and enjoy community.  Our students come from the Middle East, Asia, South America, and Central America with the majority being Spanish speakers from Bolivia and Guatemala.

On Sept. 8, Church of the Messiah in Chesapeake, VA held a community blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross. The drive collected 31 units, 13 over the goal! Volunteers from the church coordinated, offered moral support, and donated during the drive.
