The Rev. Tim Howe Installed as Rector of St. Michael’s
by Deb Hamrick, Sr. Warden
On the glorious morning of September 28, Bishop Chris Warner installed the Rev. Tim Howe as Rector at St. Michael’s in Nokesville, VA.
St. Michael’s Anglican is a praying congregation who deeply care for one another and are committed to praying with power, conviction, and faith. Fr. Tim was called to lead this lovely congregation with a vision of creating Christ-centered environments that encourage and equip people to pursue intimacy with God; embrace people in a warm and loving Anglican church family; and support people in building God’s kingdom. As Fr. Tim joined the church he relayed the following to its members: “It is my prayer as we come to join you on your journeys to bring Christ into our lives more and more. He is alive and active in our world today and He is alive and active in the life of St. Michael's Anglican Church. As we seek Him, as we yield to Him, it is my prayer that He will build His church and make St. Michael’s a beacon of hope and salvation.”
St. Michael’s Anglican Church is prayerfully looking forward to growing in its relationship with Christ and sharing the good news of His gospel with many others in Western Prince William County under Tim’s prayerful guidance. Tim+ and his lovely wife Kim are busy forming relationships with the congregation and looking for ministry opportunities in the area. Please keep us in your prayers during this exciting time of transition.
Give grace to this your servant, to whom the charge of this Congregation is now given: so empower him with the truth of sound doctrine, and endue him with holiness of life, that he may faithfully serve before you to the glory of your great Name, and the benefit of your holy Church; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
Praise the Lord, you his angels, you might ones who do his bidding, who obey his word.
Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts, you his servants who do his will.
Praise the Lord, all his works everywhere in his dominion.
Praise the Lord, my soul. ~Psalm 103 vs 20-22

From Tim Howe:
Kim and I wish to thank our friends from the Diocese, Bishop Warner, and the wonderful saints of St. Michael’s Anglican Church in Nokesville, for the glorious service of institution as their new rector on September 28.
The Lord answered many prayers for good weather and blessed us with a marvelous sunny day. Our hosts at Greenwich Presbyterian bent over backwards to accommodate our needs for a reception, providing the tables and chairs and tents we needed. The saints of St. Michael’s provided an abundance of food for our luncheon after the service. Old friends from Truro church sent over a beautiful flower arrangement to grace the sanctuary.
Bishop Warner’s sermon presented powerful challenges and encouragements to the congregation (and to me as their new rector) to seek the Lord, listen for His voice, and to follow Him in our church community, in our commitment to Him, and in looking for new mission and outreach opportunities.
I also wish to acknowledge my immediate predecessor, Erin Bair+, for her years of hard work at St. Michael’s. The fruit of her labors are evident in the deep faith of the people.
During the service, the Lord was powerfully present- He made Himself known as I knelt to pray the prayer of surrender and commitment that forms part of the institution service. He was powerfully present as we prayed the Litany for the church. And He was very present as we broke bread in the Communion. To Him goes the glory for this calling and from Him alone will come the blessings of this ministry.
We are excited to begin this new journey of faith with St. Michael’s as we seek to honor Christ and bring others into a growing relationship with Him.
To the Lord be the glory!
In Christ,
Tim Howe+
