Safeguarding of Children & Adults

An email was sent to all clergy earlier this week announcing the new diocesan Policy for the Protection of Children and Adults. This was followed by an email about the changes, along with an invitation to a meeting via zoom to discuss the new policy, outline the changes and new requirements, and answer your questions. The Safeguarding Policy was adapted by a diocesan task force in response to the new ACNA Canon I.5.8 and approved by the Standing Committee on June 25, 2025. The roll-out will take place over the next several months, with implementation in every church required by December 2025. We give thanks for the ongoing work of all the members of the diocesan task force and ask for your continued prayers for our churches' leadership as they make efforts to meet these new standards and ensure the safety of all those entrusted to our care.
