DOMA Well Represented at Provincial Council
In June, a delegation from the Diocese attended the Annual Provincial Council (similar to the annual Synod for DOMA) in Tulsa, OK.
The official delegates, Bishop Chris Warner, Canon Tuck Bartholomew, The Rev. David Drake, Baseem Youseff, and Scott Reichert, were tasked with attending virtual pre-meetings, reviewing a variety of reports and documents, and voting at Provincial.
In addition, many others from the Diocese served while at Provincial Council:
Basseem Youseff (Christ Church Vienna) in addition to being a delegate, serves on the the Executive Committee for Provincial and served as a reader during the Wednesday evening Eucharist.
Albert Thompson (Christ the King) served as a reader during Thursday morning prayer.
Alan MacDonald (Truro Anglian Church) participated as the Vice Chair of the New Wineskins Partners Network.
Jack Waters (Christ the King) participated as an Ambassador for Recruitment for Trinity Anglican Seminary
Heidi Reichert (All Saints’ Church) co-lead a workshop titled “Fruitful Ministry with People in Your Congregation with Differing Mental and Physical Abilities.”
Bishop Chris Warner participated in a panel about the Clergy Financial Wellness Initiative
The Rev. Ben Lansing’s (Redeemer Anglican Church) Our Church Speaks artwork was provided as a gift to all delegates and used to decorate the walls at the host church’s new building (Cornerstone Church in Tulsa, OK).
The Rev. Canon Tuck Bartholomew participated in a pre-Council meeting regarding the newly announced Anglican Campus Fellowship.

As a first-time delegate to an ACNA provincial council, I came away from the conference encouraged and grateful. The host parish’s hospitality, incredible worship, and conversations with people from across the province made it a memorable experience. It broadened my perspective beyond our own parish and diocese, with honest discussions about both the opportunities and challenges facing the ACNA. It was encouraging to hear about church growth, a new Diocese, continued support for Armed Forces chaplains, and efforts to strengthen ministry across the province. I particularly enjoyed meeting missionaries serving in Egypt and Belize. Not only was it inspiring but it reminded me of the Church’s mission to reach far beyond our local community.
