Noon Lunch

The Anglican Church of the Valley (Staunton, VA) joins with several other local churches and community organizations to serve hot lunches to those in need every weekday. Guests include individuals and families who are homeless or experiencing food insecurity. Our church takes its turn on the third Tuesday of each month, when we prepare and serve a hearty meal to about 20–30 people. For many, this lunch is more than just food—it’s also a time for conversation, encouragement, and the assurance that they are seen and valued.

This weekday meal program runs five days a week, all year long, offering a steady source of help in every season. Together, the volunteer teams from participating churches serve hundreds of meals each month, meeting a basic need while also building a sense of community. It’s a small but tangible way of living out Christ’s command to love our neighbors, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share God’s care in both word and action.
