The Light Shines in the Darkness
by Matthew 25 Initiative (M25i)
Lent is less than a month away! You are invited to a seven-week voyage through this holy season. Lent calls us to repentance and re-illumination — to rediscover that God’s mission is mercy and that we are bearers of His light in every dark corner of our communities.
M25i invites you to join us for a seven-week voyage through the holy season of Lent. Lent calls us to repentance and re-illumination — to rediscover that God’s mission is mercy and that we are bearers of His light in every dark corner of our communities.
How is the M25i Lenten Series different? Because it doesn't stop at personal piety. It gives the gospel story towards Easter hands and feet and public witness. This year we combine:
George MacDonald novels
Poverty & justice literacy
Examples of Anglicans acting as light bearers in a dark world
Prayer & action
What makes this particular Lenten series special, is that parishioners from DOMA have helped to create it!!
Once you have downloaded it, make note of Day 26 by Kolleen Gladden-Sorensen (Restoration Anglican) and Day 37 by Rev. Patti Brown (Truro).
The ACNA Matthew 25 Initiative is a network of Anglican practitioners, supporters, learners and teachers doing the work of pushing back the darkness of injustice, as we learn to love our neighbors as ourselves.
