A Community Pool Party🌱
by Morgan Reed
This year Corpus Christi Anglican Church (Franconia, VA) held our third annual pool party at one of our member's community pools. We had our best turnout in the last three years (and the weather was amazing). The kids played and continued to build their friendships. They hung out on the side of the pool at times by the diving boards while the adults splashed them with cannon balls from the diving board. I enjoyed seeing two new households begin to find a home in the community at CCAC as they ate together with other households and held long conversations. One person had invited a friend and we had a long conversation about the religion she'd left behind. She wasn't ready to be a part of another religion again anytime soon, but we had a wonderful conversation and she did end up mentioning that if there were ever a church that her family would visit, it would be ours. Looking back on our pool day, and other events like it, I love how creating fun contexts for conversation and friendship become the places for conversations about Jesus's work and the kingdom of God.
