Christ the Savior Moves to Arbutus!

by Becki Neumann

Christ the Savior (CtS) has moved to Arbutus, MD! Our first public service at the Arbutus Social Club was held on Easter. We had our largest attendance ever and the Holy Spirit was palpable in the room. People who had previously visited our “Worship in the Park” joined us for a wonderful service, and they lingered for rich fellowship afterward.

Over the last several years CtS has been engaged in outreach in the Arbutus area and had discerned a call to relocate into that community. After praying and searching for over two years, the Lord opened a door at Arbutus Social Club. They are excited to host us, and we are thankful for the opportunity to have more of a presence in the community there. Only God could have orchestrated the “chance” conversation that led us to explore possibilities with them. One amazing art of the story is that a parishioner had a vision of a triangular white portico on the building to which we would move. We visited one potential site, and it had such a portico, but we discerned that it was not the place. When we went to the Social Club it was noted that it had not just one, but two white porticos - God was making double sure we knew it was the place.

Since the move we have had steady foot traffic, with folks returning for more than one Sunday. Please join us in praying that we can minister the love and grace of Jesus in our new location!

The Rev. Becki Neumann is the Priest-in-Charge at Christ the Savior in Arbutus, MD.
