Seniors Friday Lunch Call

by Karen Rummel

For many years, Truro has welcomed Seniors to our campus for a Friday lunch get-together. When those gatherings came to a halt in March, the ministry quickly pivoted to offer a weekly phone gathering as a way to keep this community connected. Every Friday from 12–12:30 p.m., seniors join the call to share uplifting conversation along with a brief inspirational thought from one of Truro’s pastors or from an occasional guest. Callers then pray for one another and for other concerns in these challenging days.

Truro’s Seniors ministry always defines “seniors” loosely—they like to say they welcome all ages, from 6 to 96. Anyone can call in and find a warm welcome at (862) 799-9433. If you’d like to learn more, the Rev. Coleman Tyler can answer your questions at CTyler@TruroAnglican.com.

Karen Rummel is the Director of Communications for Truro Anglican in Fairfax, VA.
