Church of the Holy Spirit’s Historic Faith Ministries was present at the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Manassas Reenactment on July 24th, 2011 with a public worship service led by the Rev. Clancy Nixon, Senior Pastor at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Leesburg, Va. During his message Clancy said to the congregation several times, “It is hot now, but it might be hotter if you don’t know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.” The audience reacted with nods of approval and laughter.

In 2009, God spoke a new vision for VBS. He said, “Go and tell!” VBS was taken out from behind the church walls and held throughout the community. That first year there were 10 sites; last year there were 15; and this year, VBS is being hosted at 20 different sites (18 homes plus two homeless prevention shelters). Nearly 120 parishioners supported the sites and served more than 300 children, over 70% of whom were not members of the church.
